January
Interactive Futures
Hosted at the Royal Spa Centre in Leamington Spa, Interactive Futures is two-day gaming conference all about the future of games. Spanning from 31st January until 1st February with Brenda and John Romero headlining the event this definitely takes a prime spot in our calendar.
February
Yorkshire Games Festival
Returning for year number 4 from the 5th until the 9th it looks to be bigger than ever. Described as "A five-day extravaganza celebrating games culture, design and production, with special guests, workshops, master classes, and a fun-packed weekend for gamers of all ages" we're keen to hear all about it.
March
European Game Showcase at GDC
This event is a key one for you budding developers out there. Hosted in San Francisco on the 17th this invite only event is a pro-bono cause where over 30 European developers showcase their newest games to press, publishers and strategic partners. Investing in the future of gaming this event is invaluable to those starting out.
Watch Dogs: Legion
Ubisoft has really tried with the newest instalment in the Watch Dogs franchise. 1 & 2 have both been hit with mixed reviews but I for one hope they can deliver with Legion. Due to be released on the 3rd March with the promise of being able to play as literally any character - something never-before-seen in gaming. It's set in London as well so what more could you ask for?
April
Insomnia Gaming Expo
Insomnia is returning to the NEC in Birmingham during Easter Weekend from Friday 10th until Monday 13th. You'll have the chance to get a sneak peek from top game publishers, watch or take part in competitions and even check out the Indie section. Check out the BYOC (Bring Your Own Computer) arena and take part in the UK's biggest LAN party.
Cyberpunk 2077
Cyberpunk 2077 is a must-have for your 2020 gaming calendar. The hype surrounding this game has been buzzing and reached fever pitch when Keanu Reeves made his breathtaking debut at E3 in 2019. The game will be live from the 16th and will be on PS4, Xbox One, Google Stadia and PC.

No gaming calendar would be complete without mentioning Gamescom. Described as "The Heart of Gaming" Gamescom is hosted in Cologne at the Koelnmesse from the 25th August for trade visitors (26th for the general public) until the 29th. 2019 boasted 1,153 exhibitors spread over a colossal 218,000 square meters with 373,000 visitors walking through the doors.

Next Gen Consoles
So far we don't have an official date but everyone in the gaming industry are talking about one thing. Next gen consoles. Both PlayStation and Xbox have announced that we can expect them in Q4 - just in time for the holiday rush but the key details are still under wraps at the time of writing this post.We'll keep adding to this list as the year progresses and more events and releases are announced!
