Sims 4 Road Map: Free Update and Pack Releases
The first Sims 4 road map of 2023 has been released and it's a BIG one. One of the most consistently asked for features to be added to the Sims 4 is more family game play, the idea of getting a Sims 3 Generations style pack for the Sims 4 seemed a pipe dream with EA opting to release more packs that seemed to be splitting the idea of a single generation pack. The Sims 4 Parenthood gave us some of the family game play people have been calling for, the Toddler Stuff pack added to that and our teenage Sims finally got some attention with the High School Years pack, but the game play itself still felt lacking with hardly any unique activities for child Sims and elders.
What's coming?
Back in October during the Sims Summit Live Stream it was announced that a new life stage was going to be added into the Sims 4 with infants crawling onto the scene "early 2023" and this was further confirmed in the road map.
BIG Update
The road map confirmed what we all knew already - at some point in the first quarter of the year we can expect the Infant Life Stage Update to be released in a free Base Game update.
Two Kits
Kits have been a dividing force in the Sims community, whether you love or hate them it's been revealed that this season there will be two unique kits coming to the Sims 4 - from the icons it seems we can expect a CAS kit with the underwear and a build/buy kit focusing on bathrooms.
One Expansion Pack
This one is more a curve ball, with the reference to "San Sequoia" in the teaser it's assumed that this is the name of the new world in the expansion pack that was teased back in the Sims Summit ... the tooth shaped bear? Yeah we have no idea. Sims players were desperate for fairies to come with Cottage Living, could we be getting a tooth fairy in the shape of a bear? The tooth bear-y?
Community Live Stream
Hopefully we won't have too long to wait until we get some solid details on what's to come with an official community stream with the Sims team on the 31st January
The road map isn't the only update, we've also got our first Laundry List of 2023 filled with known bugs the Sims teams are aiming to tackle with the upcoming update, bugs being addressed in the Laundry List include the toddler same face glitch, the wants and fears toggle not working and the glitch that causes random items to disappear when adding/moving/deleting walls and wall patterns
The family tree layout of the roadmap, "The Michaelson reunion" "Get familiar with the Sims this season" and "it's all relative" at this point it can't be anything else but a generations pack, I just hope for the Sims team that it can live up to the hype and nostalgia of Sims 3 Generations.
